A magical time

I am not a fan of the snow, too many years of waiting for dad to come home while mum worried about him driving about in the snow but this year has been a little different.....

This is the first christmas Jack has really understood the whole process, the build up, the fact we give and receive etc. When we had the first flurry of snow this year he ran to the front door and shouted "its snowing! Its christmas - santa is on his way!" How cute?!

We played in the snow, (though our snowman attempts we abysmal!) we have been out and about in the snow and the fact it has stayed around for a few days means jack has really got that christmas feeling!

We have been doing advent with a twist this year too, jack has had a mixture of activities to do, books to read and a couple of small toys (the harmonica was not such idea in hindsight!) I feel this has really cemented the idea of advent, its given us focus and something to do an enjoy together in these cold dark afternoons, and we have produced so truly wonderful pieces of art and objects to treasure.

For me the start of the festive season was the weekend just past, Adam was off, I did some shopping with my sister and we had a meal out with Laura, Russ, Phoebe and Ezra. It was only pizza granted but us all being together and spending quality family time together was fab.

Having said that though, I'm not really excited yet, maybe It'll come xx
