ready x

Since she turned 6 months Eleanor hasn't shown much interest at all in food, in fact it was only last week both she and Ezra sat at the dining table and while Ezra reached out to grab food from his mama's plate Ele just sat, watching. Yesterday thought that all changed and when M offered her some banana at lunch Eleanor pushed forward and starting sucking on the banana skin, although she has a disgusted look on her face she went back for more!

Although I was keen in delaying weaning slightly she is now 6 1/2 months and ready. At tea she sat with us as usual at the table and she grabbed some bagel and put it in her mouth! we sat her in the handysitt and she was well away, she ate 3/4 of a bagel! we couldnt believe how much she ate in one go - esp her first proper time eating!

I am happy, dont get me wrong, she is growing up, she has to. I am however saddened that this signals the start of the end of our breastfeeding relationship. it also shows that the intent need for their mothers that babies have is starting to go, i know she will always need her mum but i look at Jack - so independent and I know that soon (or so it seems) she to will need me in  a very different way.

Ezra (visit laura's blog here) started his weaning journey yesterday too! very exciting! They too are doing Baby Led Weaning - no more mush! Its great to be going through the same stages at the same time with someone, bizzare gow it came to be the same day though!
